Debbie Burke MBACP

Debbie is an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and is a registered member of the BACP. She provides a safe, supportive and confidential space to help clients deal with their difficulties and struggles. This could be dealing with major life changes such as bereavement and loss, trauma or relationship issues. By being warm, empathic and non-judgmental she helps build a therapeutic relationship with her clients. This enables her clients to explore what’s happening in the present, and how past events and early experiences can result in unhelpful patterns and behaviours. Debbie helps her clients reach their goals whether that’s finding peace of mind, reaching their full potential or moving forward with their lives with a better understanding of who they are and where they want to be.

Debbie has volunteered for many years with a children’s hospice offering support and bereavement counselling to parents and carers of children with life limiting conditions and disabilities and has undertaken extensive bereavement counselling training. She has worked in an NHS practice and for charities such as Mind helping clients with common mental health issues.

Debbie has experience working with a variety of issues such as:

  • abuse
  • anxiety
  • working with carers
  • depression
  • self esteem
  • bereavement and loss
  • domestic abuse
  • relationship issues
  • trauma
  • identity issues
  • workplace stress
