Amy Sharpe MBACP

Amy Sharpe is a qualified integrative counsellor working in private practice. She is registered with British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and works within their ethical framework.

Amy believes that meaningful connection is essential to our wellbeing, and that the most important relationship we have is the one with ourselves. She believes that with courage, commitment, and support, meaningful change is possible for everyone.

Before people can begin to process their experiences, rebuild trust, and make sense of what has happened to them, they need a space where they feel respected, heard and accepted without judgement. Creating that space has become central to Amy’s practice as a Counsellor.

Integrative counselling means she is trained in a range of therapeutic approaches, allowing her to adapt the way she works to meet each client’s individual needs. As no two people are the same, she tailors therapy accordingly.

She works with Person-Centred concepts to help clients build self-awareness through the therapeutic relationship. Psychodynamic concepts can help uncover unconscious patterns and provide greater understanding of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Amy also draws on CBT techniques to explore the links between thoughts, emotions, and behavioural patterns.

Amy has experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, shame, guilt, loss, and life transitions. Amy values the connection between the mind and body. She has a particular interest in the somatic impact of emotions.
