Hello. My name is Richard (he/him) and I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor.
It can be a daunting and bewildering task to reach out for therapy or counselling. So, I offer a safe, confidential and welcoming space for you to see how the process feels with me. I will listen, enquire, and offer support and at times gentle challenge, as together we look to make sense of your feelings, experiences, and difficulties in life.
My approach is grounded in my training in relational Transactional Analysis (TA) psychotherapy. This means I am curious how our past shapes us and continues to do so, perhaps out of awareness, in the present.
I am committed to ethical, non-discriminatory practice and welcome clients of all identities, sexualities, partnering relationships, cultures, and faiths. My approach is sensitive to the influence that society, culture, heritage and intergenerational factors have on people’s lives and identities.
I work in-person or online with adult individuals and couples. Sessions are weekly and last for 50 minutes.
Before starting my private practice, I worked as a counsellor for two London based mental health charities, working with a diverse range of clients and issues. Prior to this, I spent over ten years as a listening volunteer for the Samaritans.
I hold a Clinical Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the Metanoia Institute, London, and I am currently in advanced training to complete a master’s degree in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy.
I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to the BACP; UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP); and European Association of Transactional Analysis (EATA); code of ethics. As such, I undertake regular supervision and ongoing continuing professional development to update my skills and knowledge.
Fees:
£65 per session (Individual therapy)
£75 per session (Couples counselling)
The first session is charged at a reduced rate of £50.
