Dominic Palmer-Brown MBACP

I offer a confidential space, online or in person, in which to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. This allows us to consider your concerns compassionately, with an openness to whatever issues you would like to bring. I often work with clients who are experiencing difficulties in personal relationships, employment or social life. These difficulties may include self-doubt, perfectionism, anxiety, bereavement, depression, lack of purpose, or the impacts of abuse and other forms of trauma.

My approach is guided by a deep affinity for a client’s wish to lead a more fulfilling life by coming to terms with the past, living fully in the present, and embracing the challenges and possibilities of the future. In therapy, we explore how you can be at home in the world in a way that feels right for you.

Background
Aside from my training as a psychotherapist and counsellor, my career has involved mentoring, teaching, tutoring, research and leadership in several of the UK’s most diverse universities; and this has given me an understanding of the challenges of balancing work and life.

I researched neural networks for my doctorate, and as a professor in several universities. My interest in neuroscience has given me an understanding of the embodied impact of experiences, and the remarkable potential for development in each of us.

I have completed training to postgraduate diploma level in psychotherapy and counselling and have continued to advance my skills and knowledge on a master’s degree, focusing on existential therapy, completing in the summer of 2024. I am a registered member (MBACP) of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Register number 406354.#

Fees for 50 minute sessions range from £45 to £65, depending on circumstances, online or in person.
